Start the semester with a plan. The first semester is a learning curve; the second is where you find your stride. We’re moving past the "New Year’s Resolutions" talk and focusing on practical systems to help you stay ahead of your syllabus and your social life.

First-Gen Experience

January 28, 11 AM

Register

Navigating college when you’re the first. Being a first-generation student often means figuring out the "hidden curriculum" of college on your own, which can be exhausting. Join us for a virtual session featuring a mental health professional to discuss the unique pressure of the first-gen experience. We’re moving past the surface-level advice and talking honestly about burnout, family expectations, and how to protect your mental health while you’re paving the way. No clichés—just a space to acknowledge the challenge and find some balance for the semester ahead.

LinkU Launchpad (Session 3)

February 10, 1 PM

Register

Build a profile that actually sounds like you. Most people tell you that you "need to be on LinkedIn," but they don't explain how to use it without it feeling forced. This session is about moving past the buzzwords to build a professional presence that actually reflects who you are. Join us to learn how to translate your experience into opportunities—without the "cringe" factor.

*Spots are limited for this session as it’s a series, and two sessions have already taken place.

The Internship Roadmap

February 24, 1 PM

Register

Master the internship process from the initial search to the final day. Finding your first internship often feels like a full-time job in itself. This session is designed to take the guesswork out of the process, covering everything from how to land the role to how to actually succeed once you’re there. We’re skipping the generic advice and giving you a practical guide on how to find the right opportunities, navigate professional expectations, and turn a short-term role into long-term connections. Join us to learn how to make an impact during your internship and ensure the experience actually helps you get to the next step in your career.

Mentor Me Day

February 25

Various Time Slots - will be provided on a later day to register

Get personalized career advice in a one-on-one session with a mentor. The best way to figure out your own path is to talk to someone who has already walked it. For Mentor Me Day, we’re giving you the chance to skip the large group lectures and sit down for a focused, 20-minute conversation with a professional in a field that interests you. You’ll be able to select your own mentor, ask specific questions about their career journey, and get the kind of honest, individual feedback you can’t find in a textbook. It’s a low-pressure way to build your network and get a clearer picture of what your future career actually looks like.

Money Management 101

March 3, 1 PM

Register

Take control of your money without the complicated financial jargon. Between textbooks, food, and social life, managing your budget as a freshman can feel like a constant balancing act. Our Savings 101 session is designed to give you a realistic handle on your finances without the stress. We’re skipping the lecture and focusing on practical ways to track your spending, build a starter emergency fund, and make your money last through the end of the semester. Join us to learn how to build smart financial habits now that will set you up for long-term independence.

Imposter Phenomenon

March 12, 1 PM

Register

Master the strategies to silence self-doubt and finally own your success. Many of us have experienced that nagging feeling that we aren’t quite as capable as others perceive us to be, or that our success is purely a result of luck rather than our own hard work. This workshop dives into "imposter syndrome," exploring why these feelings of self-doubt often arise during major life transitions like starting college or entering a new career. We’ll skip the generic advice and focus on practical, evidence-based strategies to help you navigate the common signs of feeling like an outsider and learn to internalize your actual achievements. Join us to learn how to quiet that inner critic, build genuine confidence, and recognize the value you truly bring to the table.

Workplace Readiness

March 24, 1 PM

Register

The Professional Playbook: Navigating the unwritten rules of the workplace. Transitioning from a classroom to a professional environment comes with a steep learning curve that isn’t always covered in a syllabus. This session is all about "workplace etiquette"—the subtle habits and communication styles that help you build a strong reputation from day one. We’ll move past the basics to discuss how to navigate office culture, communicate effectively with colleagues, and handle professional situations with confidence. Join us to learn the practical skills that will help you bridge the gap between being a student and being a respected young professional.

Investing Basics

March 31, 11 AM

Register

Cut through the hype and learn how to actually start growing your money. Investing is often made to sound like a high-stakes game for experts, but it’s actually one of the most important tools for long-term independence. This session is a straightforward introduction to what investing is and how it works, without the "get-rich-quick" schemes or confusing jargon. We’ll talk about the power of compound interest, the difference between stocks and bonds, and how to start small while you’re still in college. Join us to learn the fundamentals of building wealth so you can feel confident about your financial future.

Food, Mood, and Body

April 21, 11 AM

Register

Build a healthier relationship with food and your body during the college transition. Navigating dining halls and busy schedules can make it difficult to maintain a balanced lifestyle without feeling overwhelmed by restrictive rules or social pressure. This session, led by specialists from the nutrition group, moves past fad diets to focus on the essentials of intuitive eating, body image, and sustainable nutrition that fits a student’s budget and schedule. We’ll discuss how to fuel your body effectively while challenging the negative internal talk that often surrounds what we eat and how we look. Join us for a grounded, realistic conversation on how to develop healthy habits that support your physical and mental well-being throughout your college journey.

Meet Your Presenter, Kelly

When I was six years old, my mom helped me open a savings account. As a structural engineer she loved math, and I’d like to think this was her way of encouraging me to have an interest in numbers too. My mom was a high-achieving professional, one of very few women in her field of work, and her example gave me a sense of empowerment around using money as a tool and forging a path to cultivate my own financial resources.

In college I decided to channel those early interests into receiving a degree in Finance from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. From there I spent nearly 12 years at Dimensional Fund Advisors, a large asset manager whose long-term approach to investing relies on financial science instead of attempting to guess where markets are going next. Most recently I was a Regional Director and Vice President on the sales team and Lead Chair of the Women’s Inclusion Network for employees.

Creating Healthy Boundaries

Creating Healthy Boundaries

Overview

As young girls, you may have received certain messages when trying to express yourselves, your emotional needs, or otherwise assert yourselves.  You learned quickly and adapted then.  But why is it so hard now, as an adult, to say no? Ask for help? Or communicate essentially any needs?

Setting and maintaining boundaries is a critical part of self-care and life balance. They are unique and personal, like promises made to ourselves. Which is why they can be made and held with confidence – that you are taking care of yourself with every boundary that you maintain. In this session we will explore why holding boundaries feels so uncomfortable, the role that stereotypical gender roles play, and how to set and maintain them with intention.
